01 · Profile

The client

IN-CO originated in 1963 as Renato Romagnoni and manufactures bimetallic and trimetallic electrical contacts. Its production capabilities evolved within a modern 2,500 m² facility, supported by specialised personnel and advanced machinery. The company has applied a quality-management system since 1994 and obtained UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2018. Massimo, Alessandra, Paolo and Claudio continue the family tradition through continuous renewal, Made in Italy manufacturing and the transition towards Industry 4.0.

02 · Process

Need and original solution

Driven by innovation and environmental-impact reduction, IN-CO invested in ELETTROFLOTTAZIONE® in May 2000. The objective was to treat and recover process wastewater without a final liquid discharge. Over years of operation, the company developed direct operating experience. According to the published case history, nearly all of the limited shutdown events were linked to isolated, very small anomalies in ageing components—conditions that could neither be anticipated by an operator nor managed when no operator was present locally.

03 · Upgrade

2013 revamping and remote supervision

In May 2013, Stefano Sommariva, supplier of the ELETTROFLOTTAZIONE® technology, revamped the plant with a new automation control panel and Rilheva supervision. Real-time plant visibility and remote supplier support became available from that point onward. The original case history reports that external assistance costs and failure-related interruptions during normal operation were practically eliminated.

Rilheva IIoT platform

The web-based SCADA platform was introduced to improve process awareness, operational efficiency and remote access to the plant.
